rams vs seahawks Seahawks prevail over Rams in NFC Championship Game

Rams vs. Seahawks: The Seahawks dominated the Rams in the NFC Championship Game. They have a two-headed backfield with Kenneth Walker and Zach on the defensive front. That's going to be a story today.

Kevin: Third and five. Darnold, got the defensive martyr. He'll pick it up. Another chapter for Rasheed Shaheed but these are pretty easy to complete

And Fordernold is pretty easy to read. >> Kevin: A quick pass out from Smith-Njgba and a nice move out of nowhere, Seattle is very much in the option and you won't see a ton of it at the end

But you know at the end of the voting he'll come back to it. >> Kevin: Walker inside, not much there, still fighting forward, still going forward,

Walker. How did he get this far? >> Kevin: Seahawks end up here. Walker gets it back, tries to get to the edge. He's pretty fast. He got there, touchdown set.

set. >> TOM: An electric start. There are about four unblocked Rams in the hole. Walker just blocks his feet and then uses his speed to the defense's themi meter

where he's happy. Go 150 yards for a touchdown, not the typical length of the field. KEVIN: Play action pressure, Stafford takes deep action, Naqua is open, he got it.

Stafford has a big connection to Naqua and the loudest fans in the NFL 26. KEVIN: Stafford, throw it to Lotto Naqua. Now it's fourth down and 10.

The field goal unit comes out. Who won with a 42 yarder in overtime. This for 44. And MEVIS drilled it and it's good. Rams took the big play Tonaqua

and put things down on the board to make it 7-3 in the first scoring. They do a great job of keeping the defense balanced. Kevin: Darnold on the fake, rolling to the left, freezing down, AJ Barner, first down.

The Rams could live on this one today. Kevin: Fake on the play, Darnold, a scene towering, lots of room to run, Kenneth Bunch is looking for a first down and more.

Kevin: Third and short, George O'Looney checks in. Looking, throwing. Did he keep it in bounds? 137 yards so far this quarter.

Second and goal, Walker. Leaping over the pile, he's back at the five. Forkley Martin's crew's first flag of the day so far. Tom: Maybe a hold Antum: Maybe

Hold Bradford. Referee: Holding offense number 75, 10-yard penalty, already touching this first quarter. Third and goal. Darnold, zips it,

Incomplete, trying to get it to AJ Barner. The fans wanted a flag, I don't find Kevin: 27-yard attempt to Myers. That kick goes up and over.

So the Seahawks brought it back to a 7-point game. Tom Brady will call Blood Sports, Die will be cast on the play, not much change.

You need guys -- there was an alert, this sign that Stafford made to the side of his helmet.  Kevin: He gives NACUAWHO who runs outside

And gets hit very hard. A lot of teams don't do that. Some people call a play in the headland that they run. That's why the Rams have been successful with Matthew.

Kevin: Quick throw inside the deventedums and the beauty of a throw and catch. Kevin: Third and 10. STAFFORD, in trouble, big trouble, down and ball isove. They'll say he was wrong.

Kevin: They messed up there. Here's MEVIS, that kick is drilled right up and through. Two field goals, Harrison Mevis, to take all three.

Which led to the University of Michigan winning the NFC Championship, back and now. Kevin: Pressure, now thrust and Smith-Njgba caught.

That's a first down for the Seahawks. I say the internship paid off for McDonald. Kevin: Second and long, Foreman rush, pressure, in trouble and dropped. First Ram sack of the day.

Tom: That's what he is, Riley Dickson, one of the best punters in the league. Oh, boy, that's a bummer. XAFB IER Smith, who was ready to be the number one seed here.

A lot of games have come down to a 2-point conversion. Kevin: Parkinson, Picketty end, first down. First time Stafford has hit a hard target today and he's been a huge part of Sean McVay,

It's unreal, the production they get from Higbee, Parkinson and Ferguson. Makes the structure easier when you have him on the field. >> Kevin:

Rips a one-two and takes it into Seattle territory, goes to Pokanakua and he picks up the 21. Inside the 30, Black Corum and under the 25.

He's giving him some juice right now but his ability to run the ball has been phenomenal on this drive. That's PUKA in the backfield.Kevin: STAFFORD, looking at him, connecting with NACUA

Who's about a yard out of bounds and half shy of STAFFORD first, looking. Looking, floating to one side, wide open and what a drive. They made it easy.

It ends up being a little bit of zone coverage but they're matched up in the zone and everyone's going across. I don't know how you missed the track on Karen Williams.

Four-man rush, Darnold, good strong catch by Jackson Smith-Njegba. Four-man coverage, see if they can change it up a little bit. Kevin: Pressure, Darnold, deep start, it's caught and Smith-Njegba hangs on.

Kevin: Sure. They use the first timeout. Plenty of time. Darnold, down, Holani catches, makes a move, inside the 10 and it's first and goal.

So it's full for Charbonnet as the Seahawks are looking at themselves ROUTE.IT'S HARD FOR ANY DEFENSE BACK TO OVERCOME WHAT HE'S DOING.

Kevin: Darnold's looking at himself, pressure, he's got a man open, guess who? Smith-Njegba, touchdown set. Tom: They get plenty of time for Insmith-Njegba, touchdown set.

Tom: They get a lot of pass protection inside, Smith-Njgba in the backfield. They get a lot of time to stand in the pocket, wait to make progress. He comes out,

Cooper takes some of the coverage. And I don't know how you lost track of the ball, JSN. Kevin: Stafford for Seattle in the third quarter. Over the middle he goes to Tyler Heagy.

Ended up at the 41 yard line. They'll call their final timeout with 8 seconds left. Maybe Hail Mary. If you're watching the field deli. Kevin: 8 seconds to go, no out.

Just a three-man rush.. Tom: Oh, no. Kevin: Tough now. The clock's running out. It'll make it to halftime. And they're going to say he's ruined.

Seattle's got the ball. They say he's down and the game's over. Emanuri will get it right back but it will be half over. He was clearly down.

That takes us to the break with a 17-13 lead for the Seahawks. Primary target and really throws the Rams defense off. No bull's eye here.

Pressured again, pulled away and got it taken away. The RAMs go to Darnold for the second time. You heard him talk about it

And they've caught McVay's desire. Tom: They had some downfield Darnold. Just pick up the sack and get the best punter in the league to take position. Kevin: That's what they're going to try to do.

Deep spiraling kick, Smith, he lost it, Seattle got it back. All year.Tom: This team has clearly gotten better. They fired their special teams coach in December. Players, special teams and look where this Seattle is at.

Zone, caught, Jacobo. That's his fourth catch of the year. Tom: Last week it was a martyr earthquake. Martyr earthquake. It's a Bobo earthquake on that. Full coverage going around the right side of the field.

Bobo corner with a scramble to the post, all the way back, the length of the room. Great throw by Darnold and great job by Kubiak dialing it in.

Kevin: Now it's Stafford's turn on the play action. A deep, Parkinson's beauty and floats down to his feet inside the 40. The former Seahawk is having a career year and he catches it.

Grouping that the Rams started off with a great job. With Kevin: Let's rip it, Devontedamus is down inside the 5, a dart from Stafford. Huge play for the Rams.

Kevin: They're three-and-out tough here again. Stafford is looking to throw, swims in one, Adams is in, touchdown, L.A. is some answer. He and the Rams are getting in a lot of long drives.

Kevin: Kenneth Walker, off to a hot start, has been blocked since. Nothing there. He had his first two drives of 35 yards. He's only had 40.

The Rams have found a way to make it tight for him. Struggling in that area. Seattle is 3-7 on third down, unprotected.

But third and long is a tough spot to control. Kevin: Darnold, wide open, that's good for a first down, that's the Coopers Cup last week.

Pick up on third and late. Here's Walker, looking for a little seam, not much to do with him, getting blocked for a first down,

He's got the 11. He didn't expect that. Kevin: They saw that part. It's JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA INMOTION,

They throw it to him, get a block. And SMITH-NJIGBA gets down to the 20. You said every time he hits it

And they're rude to him. By no means perfect but they love him for being a real football player, getting there

And he's got to the line of scrimmage, he did a great job. Kevin: Third down, Cooper Cup, it's inside, touchdown Seahawks.

Tom: Yeah, nothing too fancy. It ends with zone coverage. Gets clean inside. Cooper just feels the sweet spot in that zone.

Darnold looks like he's on the left, opens up that empty zone a little bit, look at the eyes: is that it? It feels like 200 yards. I said that early in the game,

the way this defense is playing. Deonte Adams has come alive in the game. He hit the spoon again. That's why. Kevin: pressure, Staffordsteps away, threw

and it was almost stopped, it was close, Oni got his hands on it, incomplete, fourth and long. Receiver and couldn't catch. That's the reality. Richard Sherman.

Tom: What was the player receiver actually. Kevin: We had a penalty way late in the game. I'm assuming this play was overscored. What could possibly happen here?

I think it's going to be like Unsportsmanlike on satellite after the game. Referee: After the play was over, unsportsmanlike conduct, taunting, Seattle No. 27.15 yard penalty from the dead ball spot, automatic first down.

Kevin: Oh, my goodness. Referee: Unsportsmanlike, disqualification Kevin: That was fourth and 12. You saw him scare the Athramis bench team. That's right. He's going to the bench,

directing it at the opponent. That's a huge penalty. Now that's a first down. Discipline in big moments, that's expensive. Kevin: Now see if they can make them pay.

NACUA is open, he got it, touchdown!. Tom: He goes for it, goes to right back Oni who just got penalized, slight bobble, incredible catch by Nacua.

Great job by Stafford going back to him. Here's the way. A little hesitation at that move point which is about 14 yards. That's where the intermediate passing comes in.

When you can freeze the defensive back's feet, even a little bit, that's where you take the separation down the field. A costly penalty.

And then giving up the deep one, one-on-one course PUKA NACUA. REFEREE: The rule on the field was a touchdown. This play is now under video review. Kevin: They review every score.
