Brown University and MIT shooting suspect found dead; identified as a former grad student.

Brown University and MIT shooting suspect found dead; identified as a former grad student. The likely unsolved murder case has been found dead inside this storage facility in Salem, New Hampshire. Via CBS News, the news that the suspect is dead.

The question of great relief to a large number of people in these communities that you just described last night. It ends like this. IKNOW got a text a little earlier to buy from the source.

He said he was dead. We're hearing backchannels from people who, you know, want to tell local news reporters what's going on that was actually found.

And it hasn't been confirmed. It's now Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, six days that people have been in limbo, and there are still a lot of questions. I mean,

Did he help anyone else in this case? Was there anyone else involved? You know, where has he been at this time? Why and why really? What's the point here?

And how are these cases connected? We know that they are obviously. But how? Yes, the news tonight that he is dead, I asked a moment ago when the word got out,

You know, be aware of anyone that this is all resolved in time. We will have a lot of questions. And as you mentioned,

To know that your neighbor still has to figure out that they may have their own healing things to do after the trauma of being involved in the attack. None of that kind of personal work of healing and dealing with the trauma can happen.

Until you know that the threat is gone. And tonight we will know the threat. The killer is right. And to think that a lot of people really didn't feel safe.

They didn't feel safe in their neighborhood. They went about their business, you know, didn't feel safe going out, and obviously.

That's a huge concern for people in those areas. And, you know, if they have. It's really been an all-out manhunt since the beginning of this whole thing.

Unfortunately, they don't have really great photos. Just start with that. So it was a bit of a loss until they got the tips that they got the tapes.

This whole thing is coming together, and it's going to be very interesting to see if they're able to meet the conditions that the investigation was pulled off. Was it on the side of Car 2? Was it a person

Who is in the proximity of the person of interest who shared the information was a separate tip that came from a family member, or was it someone else who led them to the compound?

Okay, Amen, all of this will come out once we hear what's to be said at this news conference. The police didn't confirm it 2 days ago.

That 200 tips two days after that. SO as ED DAVIS was saying earlier today, this is a twosome safe. But in the end, that's hundreds or thousands of times. Cheryl speaking generally,

You know, we see this as a conclusion, but how much more work will be done in this investigation? What will we do in the coming days and the coming weeks?

Okay, and think it's really important that the investigators know what his motive was. I mean, who is this person? And why was this school targeted?

Why? Why did he go into a classroom with kids for final exams and start shooting people, and what did he say to, you know, the Pea Professor, what was the connection there?

And I'm thinking all of this together. Who is Iman E, and what is he doing? Are there any writings that might tell us something about his concern for the university or higher education

Or anything else that might be related to or that might have been done that are obviously separate but have similarities. That's all, you know,

Also, did he help anyone who was in contact during all this time? IMEAN, who knew about these plans? IFANYONE who might have helped him on the other end, if anyone.

It's a good reminder that, you know, people have been fed up with the news conferences all week; it seems like there's been a lack of information. What seemed to be a lack of video evidence

There was a back camera everywhere. It was kind of a loop of, you know, 5 or 6 shots that are kind of mindless, you know, thinking they're stalling the investigation.

A lot is going on behind the scenes, and they've done their job. They tracked him down. They didn't know his name, and they looked him up to make sure.

That there's some time, and you know, it's a huge misfortune for those people who, you know, are left behind in fear. Very soon. And that would be interesting to know.

Why were there better images, right? When you go back for something like that, you're not trying to find out more about the suspect. You also want to bear with

What can be done in the future to keep people safe? What can we do in the future to make sure that people don't get away with something like this?

And you know the university will be looking at the cameras, and the City of Providence will be looking at what kind of surveillance they might have. So there's a lot of that. And at the end of the day, the most important thing is

That you have the victims, you have the families of 2 young students who are living broken lives. You have 9 people who have been traumatized by being injured,

shot during something like this. You have another MIT professor who has lost his life, along with his family. There's a lot of heartache.

And a lot of broken hearts like that. And while the focus has been on this person for the past 6 days, soon enough, we'll be able to celebrate the lives of these others.

And the students who are in this building, Physics and Engineering, 4 p.m., last week's sharing, either Who Escaped This Room or Who Heard Me, building, and Brown has promised,

Even as he began to provide some of these initial resources that would have to go on indefinitely to try to TOADDRESS from there.

But this is something that will affect this campus going forward. And to your point, you know that's the real aspect of it that you can't begin your healing.

Until you're able to acknowledge Delos, and no one can protect it. And the memories of this college are a lifetime of memories because of the uncertainty of the end.

And it's not exactly. The kind of memory you want from anyone. Oh, my goodness. You know, horrible. Absolutely horrible. I mean, you think about it.

They're finishing their semester. You know, something like that happens, and it's just great. It's absolutely horrible that everyone is involved. And, you know,

They'll definitely be after the action report. I mean, what was done? Well, what wasn't done? Well, what can you do to make changes? What needs to be done to bed?

You know, the cameras. That's just one aspect of it. I mean, you know, there was some concern about the notification process, and that there could have been

And isn't there some security that should be in place? You know, they have white people who can enter the buildings. BUTDURING I GUESS, EXAMS, ERIC,

I open the campus. So you can go into some of these buildings, I don't know. Is there something that should tie up the UPA a little bit during finals?

I don't know how it works at different universities. I teach on this side. At Emerson, you don't enter the building without tapping your CardWright, you know?
