Arkansas Basketball: Alabama Basketball Outplays Arkansas in 2OT Thriller. Our Analysis of Tonight’s Challenge for Arkansas.

They have seven healthy players, and in a game that’s going to be up and down. Calipari said we might have to call a timeout to catch our breath.

Brazil wins the tap, and it’s AOFand Arkansas in the road red. Pylon Auffelsets a screen starts. AUF and it’s a good start.

Yeah. And they’ll start a bunch of them. It feels like the first winning game in 90 years. That’s the pace they both want to go with.

Holloway drives instead and he’s become a late game. No one in the SEC is playing harder right now than 24 and Red Bull Richmond.

A guy you don’t have to run plays for. Heggest goes and makes plays. Thomas threw it and it's good.

Arkansas Basketball shut down to avoid three-point shots and Richmond's good fight with Amari Allen. He got a chance for a three. I think he's pretty good.

Amari Allen does a little bit of everything. Maybe practice that counts for one and counts for three. And you're trying to get to 100.

Yeah, Thomas. And that bucket is big for both teams to start this game. Use his body to get it in all the way.

No good. And Brazil sky for the rebound. And they got a cuff on the other side. Richmond didn't see it. A high percentage shot.

Good start on the road for Arkansas because Cheryl threw it up, and there, Jefferson brought it down. Alabama came out pushing this basketball narrator.

They had six makes and three assists. Billy Richmond is shooting 10% on unguarded threes in SEC play. Open to him. This is a virtual setting.

He's not shooting 10%. He's shooting 40%. And here's Gene Alabama taking six shots, making five. And six of seven red-hot starts.

Nate Oates thinks this team is capable of really, really big things. Once healthy, Richmond pulls up. It's short. You try to follow it. Does.

And puts it up and in. Trying to push the defender away. Couldn't. And here's an opportunity for the few who look up and see it left and right.

Arkansas has been a low-turnover team the past seven. Only nine turnovers per game. That's what Richmond does, man. Absorbs body blows. And now you're playing about it again,

But you can't let it go that deep. Nice shot from there, but a missed layup.

SEC Basketball Reaction: Alabama/Arkansas Game of the Year, Darius Acuff vs. LeBaron Fillion,

SEC Basketball Reaction: Alabama, Arkansas Basketball Game of the Year, Darius Acuff vs. LeBron Flynn, OK, folks. We're back here at the Southeastern 16, presented by FanDuel.

One of the most exciting nights of SEC basketball I can remember in recent history. One of the best games I can remember in recent history. We're going to talk about it all.

You guys go ahead. A lot of you have been waiting for an hour since we set this up an hour ago, and then we went to double overtime in Tuscaloosa.

Max, where do we start? I'm speechless. I'm at a loss. That's it. I'm at a loss right now. I mean, I don't think I've ever been more shocked by a basketball game.

than I was. I'm out of breath. I think I need a second to catch my breath. My heart is pounding, I don't even want to

That this is at an unhealthy level. What a game. What a complete game. Yeah. I don't even know what I mean. It's, yeah, it's the game of the year in the SEC.

It's the game of the year in college basketball. I mean, you can probably find me one out there, but at this level, a game like this hasn't been played.

How to Watch Chivas vs. América Live: A Step-by-Step Guide

Um, wow. I was just incredible. Let's start here. So, Alabama won 117 to 115, and I don't even mean you can start with Darius Acoff.

who scored 49 points in 50 minutes. This guy never dropped 49 points in 50 minutes from an Arkansas freshman, right?

Wasn't that far? He broke the record. Yeah, because I think the one that most liked what Arkansas fans reminded me of was Rodney Clark.

Clark had 52, 54, 51, something like that in a game, but I don't know what the inSEC can play. I don't remember what the number was.

I thought I heard the broadcast say that. Something like that. 51. Yeah, there you go. So, AUF is scoring 49 points in 50 minutes. He's just about every big shot imaginable.

Um, meanwhile, LeBron James is scoring 35 points in 41 minutes. He also had seven assists. Aiden Charelle, who was huge in that game.

I mean, he was awesome with 26 and 13 in 39 minutes of play. Imagine if I told you Aiden Charelle was going to play 39 minutes in that game.

Imagine that. Imagine Elmir Zavich and Jared Karua. Like you told me, they were going to get four combined minutes in that game.

You probably said Alabama would win by 25. You probably didn't say Arkansas would win by 25. You probably said Alabama made 20 of 48 from three

and won it by 25. You know, it's interesting. You and I were texting back and forth, and at one point, Arkansas Basketballwas like, whatever. You know,

They're up 57 at the half, and like they're just coming on a mission in the second half, and then of course Alabama shoots 80% in the second half.

But at one point, when Arkansas gets a double-digit lead, you know what I'm saying? I think Arkansas is going to score 105 in this game.

And they're going to lose by three. That was my tweet to you or my text to you, and I almost did. But they're up 115.

Just what a weird game, man. UmI It hurts, Arkansas. No question. Because you're like you, I mean, you want to talk about it.

If I were John Calipari and I were coming to this press conference, I would sit there and say what Havers referred to as my team.

That's right, there on the floor, my team is, I'm fine, and then Nate O is sitting there saying are you kidding me and we're just setting nine.

117 We feel like we were toast against the Hogs, and we came out and kept making big shot after big shot. Big rebounds from Charelle. Marie Allen made some big plays.

She had 19 and 11, which feels light compared to most of the stat lines in this game. Unbelievable. Nobody's going to lose tonight.

Nobody's going to lose tonight in a game like this. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear an ounce of negativity after a game like that.

All the positives from Camp Max Bar. I mean, Billy Richmond, you guys know we're big Billy fans. We were on the Billy the Kid train before he even played a game the last two summers.

John Calipari postgame – Alabama 117, Arkansas 115

John Calipari Postgame - Alabama 117, Arkansas Basketball 115. Especially when it makes it tough. I don't want to talk about the files and all that stuff because I don't want to get in trouble.

Give Alabama credit. They fought until the end. Give my team credit. They fought. I told them after that. I'm proud of you. They fought, never gave up.

Never. We had a chance until the end. In the second half, Alabama came back and obviously took it a little bit before overtime and shot 76 percent.

And then we were like, we weren't staying in front of people, and then you have a guy that we keep saying he likes to go left, and he kept going left.

And he kept going left, and they kept calling fouls, and he kept going left. So, you know, we know they tried to change the pick-and-roll stuff to slow down Darius.

I think he had 50. So I don't know, I mean, they did some good things, and we had to adjust, and we had to keep the blend stuff

And you know, but filing guys, you know that's going to hurt this team a lot, and you're playing a lot to watch this game.

That you know we're going to be down to two, and the rent is due. Yeah. Yeah, coach. Just wondering, Imean, Carter Knox, Isaiah Sely, both missed tonight with injuries,

Just curious how much of an impact it had on your depth, and I don't want to do that, like you know, they're beating us, and you deserve to win that game.

Do you have any updates until Carter and I get back? Let's come back and find out. I don't want to say anything that's not actually true.

Darius obviously lost the game he played. I guess he was in the boot for two days, and he still did it, and I said

that you think you're going to miss this game, he said, you don't care. He was playing the fastest in the country for two days.

How tough is it that we had an 11-point lead at halftime? They had two. We were also very fast. You have two really fast teams.

I mean, Darius got, you know, a lot of attention. Lee Thomas was also, you know, Lee Thomas was also. And then he got really worried.

He, you know, and again, it was a funny kind of game. Like, I'm taking you to the screen. I'm moving forward, and you're fighting for your life to get things.

And you know, I mean, that's how the game ended. You can either accept the push and then the guy is moving on it, or you fight like that.

And they did. I have to give him credit. The kids fought. We were misunderstood, but you had no choice. You had to fight for your life.

Anything else for the coach? Wow, that's really good. I'm happy. Coach, your team, you've been doing this for a long time. Your team played as well in the first 23 minutes as I've seen it.

They had 65 at about the 18-minute mark. How did Alabama slow you guys down a little bit before you got on fire at the end of regulation? Well,

They started saying we're going to put guards in these pick-and-rolls and anything so we can switch and at least stay in front. That's what they were trying to do.

But again, I mean, we shot threes. We made more threes than they made. We make more field goals than they make. Um, we only have seven turnovers.

They outscored us by a few. And oh, we both have six blocks. They have one, and you get beaten.

Jaden and Elmer are getting into the game, obviously, how you felt, and I was feeling like you. As they stepped into it, it wasn't fair to them.

That sometimes you're not practicing to get into the game, and I told Jadenev you're a shootout out in the open, thanks, guys, you need one.

What impresses you most about what he's doing at this young age? Say what impresses you most about what Acup is doing at this age?

Better, his will to win and make big baskets. Like he thrives in it and not too much, and I've coached some really good guards over the years, Arkansas Basketball And I've gotten some that way, but he's right up there with them. I'm just telling you he's unique and special, and I would imagine everyone saw that today. But you know it was a good game. Thanks. Take care, Anthony.c
